The 22 markets covered

Every market authority publishes the short positions disclosed to it. QuiVad republishes them in one place, in one shape.

How busy the registers have been, month by month

Disclosures filed each month on the 16 registers that name funds and that we have been reading for two years. The others are left out: a market that joined halfway would draw its own arrival as the market waking up.

How many companies are sold short, month by month

The number of companies carrying at least one open position at the end of each month. A count of companies, never a sum of percentages: adding 0.6% of one company to 2.4% of another gives a figure that looks like a quantity without being one.
